Amends Section 71-3-47 of the Mississippi Code to require the Workers' Compensation Commission to order an emergency hearing within 20 days upon request or petition of either party.

Maintains existing authority of the commission to determine questions relating to payment of compensation claims and conduct investigations as deemed necessary.

Preserves the ability of the commission's designated representatives to conduct informal conferences and hearings in contested cases, with decisions filed in the commission's office.

Takes effect on July 1, 2011.
