Extends the repealer date for the Health Insurance Exchange Study Committee from July 1, 2012 to July 1, 2013, allowing the committee to continue operations for an additional year.

Committee maintains 13 members including representatives from insurance companies, health underwriters, business owners, independent insurance agents, legislators, Medicaid, and the Commissioner of Insurance.

Committee is charged with studying health insurance exchanges including carrier participation, eligible populations, ERISA/HIPAA/COBRA compliance, insurance agent roles, regulatory costs, and analysis of uninsured populations in Mississippi.

Committee must submit findings and recommendations to the Governor and Legislature by December 1, 2010 for consideration during the 2011 Regular Session.

Bill becomes effective July 1, 2011.
