Creates a new misdemeanor offense for knowingly impersonating another actual person without consent through internet websites or other electronic means for purposes of harming, intimidating, threatening, or defrauding another person.

Defines impersonation as "credible" if another person would reasonably believe the defendant was the impersonated person.

Includes opening an email account or social networking profile in another person's name as electronic means of impersonation.

Penalties range from a fine of $250 to $1,000 and/or imprisonment from 10 days to 1 year.

Takes effect July 1, 2011.
