House Bill 825 Summary

• Authorizes the State Board of Health to set and increase licensure and regulatory fees for hospitals, home health agencies, ambulatory surgical facilities, birthing centers, hospices, and institutions for the aged and infirm, subject to specified maximum amounts.

• Establishes maximum fee caps: hospitals up to $10,000 per renewal; home health agencies up to $2,000; ambulatory surgical facilities up to $6,000; birthing centers up to $2,000; and hospices up to $2,000.

• Sets hospital user fees for architectural plan reviews and facility alterations at $75.00 per hour based on actual time spent performing the service.

• Authorizes the State Board of Health to set fees for criminal background check processing up to $100.00, with covered entities able to charge employees the same fee or a portion thereof.

• Allows the State Board of Health to set fees for radiation protection program licenses and registrations up to specified maximums outlined in detailed fee schedules; effective July 1, 2011.
