Changes motor vehicle safety inspection requirement from annually to not more than once every two years for vehicles registered in Mississippi.

Sets inspection fee at $10.00 for state-registered vehicles, with $4.00 remitted to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety and the remaining $6.00 retained by inspection stations.

Sets inspection fee at $20.00 for vehicles registered in other states, with $18.00 remitted to the Department of Public Safety and $2.00 retained by inspection stations, unless a reciprocal agreement exempts them.

Maintains existing exemptions for school buses (inspected July or August annually) and vehicles manufactured before 1961.

Effective date: July 1, 2011.
