House Bill 864 - Health Care Practitioner Transparency Act

• Requires health care practitioners to wear photo identification name tags during patient encounters displaying their name, type of license, recent photograph, and license expiration date, and to display office signage clearly identifying their license type.

• Mandates that advertisements naming a health care practitioner must identify the specific type of license held and be free from deceptive or misleading information.

• Defines "health care practitioner" to include physicians (M.D.), osteopathic doctors (D.O.), nurses, dentists, optometrists, chiropractors, podiatrists, psychologists, physical therapists, and other regulated health professionals.

• Establishes violation of transparency requirements as unprofessional conduct subject to disciplinary action by respective licensing boards, including suspension, revocation, or monetary penalties.

• Requires physicians or osteopathic doctors supervising non-M.D./D.O. practitioners to post conspicuous schedules showing their regular office hours.
