Nursing schools and degree programs at state institutions of higher learning and public community or junior colleges with 100% enrollment during 2010-2011 are eligible for state funding to hire up to four additional faculty members beginning in 2011-2012.

Schools and programs receiving funding must increase enrollment proportionately for each additional faculty member hired with the state funding provided.

The Legislature shall appropriate necessary funds to the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning, State Board for Community and Junior Colleges, and State Department of Education to implement the faculty hiring provisions.

Expands the Mississippi Workforce Enhancement Training Fund to allow monies to be appropriated for nursing school faculty hiring at state institutions and public community or junior colleges, in addition to existing workforce training purposes.

Amendments made to Sections 37-4-3, 37-115-51, 37-129-1, and 73-15-25 to authorize the respective boards to provide funding for nursing faculty under these provisions; effective July 1, 2011.
