First and second convictions for contributing to child neglect or delinquency are misdemeanors punishable by up to $1,000 fine or up to one year in jail, or both.

Third or subsequent convictions become felonies punishable by up to $5,000 fine or up to five years imprisonment, or both.

Prior convictions more than five years old are disregarded when determining the number of prior convictions for penalty purposes.

Knowingly permitting continuing physical or sexual abuse of a child is punishable by up to ten years imprisonment or up to $10,000 fine, or both.

Felonious abuse of a child (intentional burning, torture, or striking causing serious bodily harm) requires imprisonment of at least ten years or life; second or subsequent convictions require life imprisonment.
