Commends Dick Rice for his service as Chief Meteorologist for WTVA News after more than 31 years with the station, ending when his contract expired in December 2010.

Recognizes his 21-year naval career as a meteorologist providing flight forecasts to pilots, including service in the South China Sea during the Vietnam era and work with the Joint Typhoons Warning Center on Guam.

Acknowledges his educational background with a bachelor's degree from Troy State University and graduate work at Central Michigan University, along with his leadership of three full-time meteorologists at WTVA.

Notes his honors including induction into the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Silver Circle and the 2009 Mississippi Associated Press Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame as the first north Mississippi broadcaster to receive that honor.

Directs copies of the resolution be provided to Mr. Rice, the General Manager of WTVA, and the Capitol Press Corps.
