Recognizes November 9, 2011, as "Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN) Awareness Day in Mississippi" to bring attention to diabetes management programs.

Notes that an estimated 23.6 million people in the United States have diabetes, with approximately 6% of Mississippi residents over age 60 affected by the disease.

Establishes that approximately 60% of people with diabetes will develop some form of nerve damage such as DPN, which causes burning, throbbing, or painful tingling in the feet or hands.

Emphasizes that DPN accounts for more diabetes-related hospitalizations than any other complication and can impede physical activity and exercise, critical components of diabetes management.

Encourages all Mississippians to support organizations searching for a cure and directs distribution of the resolution to the State Department of Health, American Diabetes Association, and Capitol Press Corps.
