Commends Ernest "Sonny" Cadden, former Band Director at Amory High School in Amory, Mississippi, and congratulates him upon his retirement.

Recognizes Cadden's accomplishments including transforming the Amory band program from 54 high school students in 1970 to 132 students by 1977, with State Band Festival scores improving from ratings of 3-4 in 1971 to all 1s by 1974.

Notes Cadden's prior experience as band and choral director at Leland High School for 14 years, where his bands consistently rated superior at State Band Festival and he was selected as one of the top ten band directors in the United States and Canada in 1969.

Acknowledges Cadden's legacy including being a four-time Concert Director of the Mississippi Lions All-State Band and a member of the Mississippi Bandmaster's Hall of Fame.

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to Ernest Cadden and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
