Commends and congratulates the Junior League of Jackson on celebrating its 70th anniversary in 2011, which was originally founded in 1927 as the Junior Auxiliary of Jackson and formally established in January 1941.

Recognizes the organization's 2,200+ provisional, active, and sustaining members and their volunteer work in healthcare, children and youth services, arts, education, and community social services throughout the greater Jackson area.

Highlights major healthcare initiatives including helping establish the Community Hospital in the 1940s, advocacy for the University of Mississippi Medical Center, donation of a neonatal ambulance, and fundraising $2 million for the Children's Cancer Clinic at the University of Mississippi Medical Center (groundbreaking in 1989).

Acknowledges volunteer efforts in cultural preservation through work at the Old Capitol Museum and Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Museum, as well as assistance to communities statewide during Hurricane Katrina (2005) and Hurricane Camille (1969).

Notes the opening of the Mississippi Children's Museum at LeFleur's Bluff State Park in December 2010, supported by a $1 million financial commitment from the Junior League.
