Commends the crew of the Virginia-class attack submarine PCU Mississippi (SSN 782) for their commitment to naval and maritime service during Mississippi Navy Week on March 19-27, 2011.

Recognizes PCU Mississippi as the fifth Navy vessel named Mississippi and acknowledges its role in carrying on the legacy of previous vessels bearing the state's name.

Notes the submarine is scheduled for delivery and commissioning in early 2012, five years after construction began on February 18, 2007.

Acknowledges the submarine's multi-mission capabilities including anti-submarine warfare, special operations forces, strike, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance, and mine warfare.

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to Commander John McGrath, Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus, and the Capitol Press Corps.
