Commends the life, legacy, and public service of Travis Alford, a Walthall County Supervisor who served 44 years, longer than any other county supervisor in Mississippi history.

Recognizes Alford's service as past President of the Mississippi Association of Supervisors, Director of the Mississippi Public Entity Workers Compensation Trust, and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Mississippi Association of Supervisors.

Acknowledges Alford's military service in the United States Navy during World War II and his roles as Chairman of the Deacons at Salem Baptist Church, a Mason, and a Shriner.

Expresses deepest sympathy to Alford's family and friends upon his death on February 10, 2011, at age 83, noting he died while performing public service by clearing a fallen tree on a county roadway.

Directs copies of the resolution be furnished to Alford's family, the Walthall County Board of Supervisors, and the Capitol Press Corps.
