Commends and congratulates the Brookhaven Academy Lady Cougars Girls Basketball Team and Head Coach Barry Gray for winning the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) Overall Tournament Championship.

Team defeated Jackson Academy 54-44 on February 26, 2011, in the Championship Finals after defeating three consecutive Class AAA opponents, finishing the season 31-4.

Victory was the team's first overall championship since 2004 and the second overall title for Coach Barry Gray.

Team notably included injured teammate Callie Cole, severely injured in an auto accident in September 2009, whose No. 12 uniform was carried to each game during the last two seasons and who was honored at midcourt during the championship celebration.
