Commends the life, legacy, and service of Mr. Lawrence Madison Sutton, Sr., who was born August 17, 1924, in Monticello, Mississippi, and passed away October 27, 2010

Recognizes his career in public education including serving as Principal of Montgomery High School in Louise, Mississippi (1955-1964), professor of biology at Mississippi Valley State University (1964-1972), and college registrar until retirement in 1983

Honors his 41 years as faculty advisor to the Zeta Phi Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the longest tenure in the fraternity's history

Acknowledges his civic service including Commissioner of Elections for Itta Bena, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the HeadStart Program for Leflore County and other Delta counties, and SWAC official

Expresses deepest sympathy to his family, including his wife of 64 years, seven children, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild
