Commends Larry Gregory, Executive Director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission, for his public service and retirement.

Gregory managed regulation of Mississippi's $2.8 billion gaming industry with a staff of 145 employees, implementing a strict but fair regulatory approach modeled after Nevada's free market model.

Gregory held a bachelor's degree in political science from University of Southern Mississippi, a master's degree in public policy and administration from Mississippi State University, and a paralegal certificate from Mississippi College, plus four years of U.S. Air Force service.

Gregory led recovery and reconstruction efforts for gaming industries along the Mississippi Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina, which he identified as his biggest challenge as executive director.

Copies of the resolution will be furnished to Gregory and members of the Capitol Press Corps.
