Commends Mrs. Aurelia Jeannette Norris Young (1915-2010), a music prodigy and educator who passed away on October 17, 2010, at age 94.

Recognizes her 40+ year teaching career at Campbell College, Tougaloo College, and Jackson College, where she established music programs including a bachelor of music education degree program.

Acknowledges her civil rights activism, including participation in the first sit-in at Jackson's municipal library in March 1961, and her donation of documented civil rights records to Tougaloo College Library.

Honors her community leadership roles including charter membership in the Jackson Links, Inc., and service as first President of the Jackson Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Expresses deepest sympathy to her family and directs copies of the resolution to be furnished to Mrs. Young's family and the Capitol Press Corps.
