Commends the life and accomplishments of Jerry Clower (1926-1998), a country comedian and entertainer from Liberty, Mississippi who became synonymous with Mississippi entertainment.

Recognizes Clower's career trajectory from farm upbringing and 4-H agent aspirations through agricultural education at Mississippi State University to 18 years as a fertilizer salesman before his discovery as a comedian in 1970.

Acknowledges his success as a Grand Ole Opry performer for more than 25 years beginning in 1973, with nearly three dozen albums, television appearances, and four bestselling books.

Honors his deep commitment to Christianity through his involvement with the Southern Baptist Convention's Country Crossroads program, work as a lay minister, and his memoir "Ain't God Good!"

Directs copies of this resolution be provided to Jerry Clower's family and the Capitol Press Corps in connection with the dedication of a Country Music Trail Marker in his honor.
