Amends Mississippi Code Section 27-65-111 to exempt school supplies from sales taxation during a period beginning at 12:01 a.m. on the last Friday in July and ending at 12:00 midnight the following Saturday.

Exemption applies only to school supplies with a sales price less than $100.00 and includes 41 specific items such as pencils, pens, notebooks, backpacks, calculators, textbooks, and writing tablets.

Exemption does not apply to accessories including jewelry, handbags, luggage, umbrellas, wallets, watches, briefcases, or similar items carried on the human body.

Allows municipalities to suspend application of the exemption within their corporate limits by adopting a resolution and providing notice to the Department of Revenue at least 90 days in advance.

Effective July 1, 2011.
