MS SB2288

Allows Mississippi taxpayers an income tax credit equal to health insurance premiums paid during the taxable year for coverage of the taxpayer and their dependents.

Limits the credit to the lesser of $500 or the taxpayer's income tax liability.

Prevents multiple taxpayers from claiming a credit for the same premium expenses.

Prohibits unused tax credits from being carried forward to future tax years.

Effective January 1, 2011.
