Requires justice court judges and conservators of the peace to check the Mississippi Protective Order Registry before ordering bail in cases involving offenses against current or former spouses, children, dating partners, or relatives living with the accused.

Existence of a domestic abuse protection order against the defendant must be considered when determining appropriate bail amounts.

Reaffirms that no bail shall be granted for misdemeanor domestic violence offenses or knowing violations of protective orders until the defendant appears before a judge within 24 hours of arrest.

Judges setting bail for domestic violence cases must consider factors including risk of further violence, past history of violence, severity of the offense, threats, and existence of protective orders.

Takes effect July 1, 2011.
