MS SB2612

Amends Section 41-13-15 of Mississippi Code to authorize counties bordering the Mississippi River with authorized casino gaming to negotiate directly with hospitals in adjoining counties for medical services.

Applies specifically to counties where Interstate Highway 69 and U.S. Highway 61 intersect and where the adjoining county's new hospital has agreed to provide physician and health care services through publicly operated clinics.

Enables the negotiated hospital to meet its certificate of need obligations by providing services to residents and invitees of the originating county through the county's publicly operated clinics or other means.

Takes effect July 1, 2011.
