Creates a Task Force to Study the Teacher Salary Scale to address teacher shortage in Mississippi and make recommendations to the 2012 Legislature

Task force will examine teacher salary scale under the Mississippi Adequate Education Program, step increases, merit pay, pay for teachers in failing schools, local supplements, and resource equity

Membership includes 15 members: State Superintendent of Public Education, Governor's appointee, chairmen of Senate and House Education and Appropriations Committees, three classroom teachers, one assistant teacher, one principal, one superintendent, and two education college deans

Appointments must be made within 30 days of the act's effective date, with the first meeting held by August 1, 2011

Members serve without compensation but may be reimbursed for expenses; task force dissolves after presenting its report to the Governor and 2012 Legislature
