MS SB2644

Amends Section 45-6-13, Mississippi Code of 1972, regarding law enforcement officer training reimbursement requirements.

Changes the reimbursement timeframe from an unspecified period to two (2) years after employment begins for officers who resign or are terminated and immediately become employed by another governmental entity.

Requires the new governmental employer to reimburse the former employer for the full share of law enforcement training expenses incurred by that entity.

Applies to full-time and part-time law enforcement officers employed by municipalities, counties, or other governmental entities in Mississippi.

Effective July 1, 2011.
