Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning must adopt and implement a policy requiring each state institution to grant a minimum of 24 college or university semester credits to first-time freshmen who have successfully completed an International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.

Each state institution of higher learning shall establish the specific number of credits granted for IB completion and identify which general education or elective requirements are satisfied, with a minimum of 24 credits required.

Students scoring three or higher on International Baccalaureate end-of-course examinations must receive a minimum of 24 college or university semester credits.

The Board's adopted policy must be made publicly available in electronic format.

Act takes effect July 1, 2011, and amends Section 37-15-38 of the Mississippi Code to clarify that IB diploma program graduates are awarded the minimum 24 college credits as required.
