Amends Section 47-5-193 of the Mississippi Code to clarify that it is unlawful to possess, furnish, or assist in furnishing weapons, deadly weapons, unauthorized electronic devices, cell phones, or contraband items within or upon the grounds of any jail, prison, or correctional facility.

Expands the prohibition to include cell phone components and accessories such as Subscriber Information Module (SIM) cards and chargers.

Makes it unlawful for any offender to take, attempt to take, or assist in taking such items on property belonging to the Department of Corrections that is occupied or used by offenders, except as authorized by law.

Applies the prohibition to officers, employees of the department, county sheriff's departments, private correctional facilities, and any other person or offender.

Takes effect upon passage.
