State Board of Education shall develop and promulgate regulations to streamline annual reports from schools and the State Department of Education, eliminating duplication and redundant performance measures while utilizing technology effectively.

Amends reporting requirements for the State Department of Education to focus on key vital statistics including student enrollment, attendance, dropout rates, graduation rates, achievement data, and fiscal information rather than all currently mandated reports.

Each local school district must develop and publish an annual report as prescribed by the State Board of Education, with publication in a newspaper by November 1 and posting on the district website.

Repeals Sections 37-3-97, 37-25-9, 37-25-25, and 37-159-15 to eliminate specific annual reporting mandates previously required from school districts to the Legislature regarding teacher education programs and other matters.

Effective July 1, 2011.
