Commends the life and mourns the loss of Sulley Detroy Ayers, a former Alcorn County Supervisor and decorated World War II veteran from Corinth, Mississippi, who passed away at age 90 with funeral services held on January 23, 2011.

Recognizes Mr. Ayers' public service as city street commissioner, county supervisor, President of the Alcorn County Board of Supervisors, and election commissioner for 12 years, as well as his business ownership of Ayers and Mattox Construction Company.

Honors his military service as a United States Army veteran who landed on D-Day in France, served in General Patton's Army, and was awarded the Bronze Star for Gallantry and Bravery and the Purple Heart.

Notes his membership in the 32nd Degree Mason, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars organizations.

Directs that this resolution be presented to his surviving family, forwarded to the Alcorn County Board of Supervisors, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
