Pearl High School "Pirates" boys soccer team defeated East Central Hornets 6-0 on February 5, 2011, to win the MHSAA Class 5A State Championship.

This was Pearl's eighth state championship overall and sixth in the last seven seasons; the team finished with a record of 19-2-5.

Senior Wesley Brown led the team with four goals in the championship game, while the Pirates' defense recorded 14 shutouts during the season and allowed an average of 0.6 goals per game.

Head Coach Andy Kivlan won his fourth state title in five seasons at Pearl and previously won two state championships while coaching at St. Stanislaus.

The Legislature commends and congratulates the team, coaches, and staff for bringing honor to Pearl High School and the State of Mississippi.
