Recognizes and salutes Mac McAnally, a Tishomingo County native, on the dedication of his Mississippi Country Music Trail marker on February 25, 2011, at C.C. Shook Park in Belmont, Mississippi.

McAnally was born July 15, 1957, in Red Bay, Alabama, and began his music career as a child at Belmont First Baptist Church before becoming a session musician in Muscle Shoals and eventually signing to Ariola Records in 1977.

McAnally's career includes ten studio albums, eight singles with two on the Billboard Hot 100 and six on the Hot Country Songs charts, songwriting credits including Alabama's "Old Flame" and Ricky Van Shelton's "Crime of Passion," and membership in Jimmy Buffett's Coral Reefer Band.

The Mississippi Country Music Trail consists of 30 markers across the state recognizing country music legends, singer-songwriters, producers, and historic sites that shaped country music culture, patterned after the Mississippi Blues Trail.

Resolution directs the presentation of this resolution to Mac McAnally and forwarding to the Mississippi Development Authority's Division of Tourism and Capitol Press Corps.
