Honors Special Forces Sergeant Mark Haskin Eaton of Taylorsville, Mississippi, who was lost in action on August 13, 1971, during the Vietnam War while serving as Assistant Team Leader of a reconnaissance team operating in enemy-controlled territory.

Recognizes Sergeant Eaton's military achievements including the Silver Star, Bronze Star with "V", Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, and other commendations earned through his service with Army Special Forces and the classified Military Advisory Command Vietnam Studies and Observation Group (MACV SOG).

Acknowledges that Sergeant Eaton was mortally wounded while rallying his team and directing their defense against a superior enemy force that attacked with small arms, grenades, automatic weapons, and rocket-propelled grenades on August 13, 1971.

Directs that the resolution be presented to Sergeant Eaton's surviving family, forwarded to the Smith County Board of Supervisors and Taylorsville Board of Aldermen, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
