Mount Olive High School "Pirates" won their second consecutive MHSAA Class A Football Championship with a 20-14 victory over Durant High Academy on December 12, 2010, finishing with an 11-4 record.

Senior quarterback Rueben Duckworth led the Pirates with 240 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns, and a 23-yard touchdown pass; Rayshad Duckworth caught 3 passes for 38 yards and a touchdown reception.

Head Coach Perry Murphy, in his first season in July 2009, compiled a 10-5 record and won the State 1A Championship, earning 2009 1A Coach of the Year and WDAM Coach of the Year awards.

The resolution commends and congratulates the Mount Olive High School "Pirates" Football Team and Head Coach Perry Murphy for the back-to-back state championships and their honor to the school, community, and State of Mississippi.
