Marshall Academy "Patriots" won the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) Class AA State Basketball Championship on February 19, 2011, defeating Simpson Academy 55-45 in the finals held at Brookhaven Academy.

The championship was the Patriots' first state title since 2002, with a final season record of 31-7.

Key players included Dakota Dailey (16 points in championship game), Taylor Maurey (15 points), Chase Ferrell (10 points), and Kevin Fitzpatrick (9 points), with four players named to the All-Tournament Team.

Marshall Academy defeated Bowling Green School 58-36 and Brookhaven Academy 57-41 during the tournament; Brookhaven had won six consecutive championships prior to this loss.

The resolution commends and congratulates the team, coaches, players, and parents for the accomplishment and their outstanding 2010-2011 season.
