Northeast Jones High School "Lady Tigers" soccer team won the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 4A Girls Soccer Championship on March 5, 2011, defeating Pontotoc 2-1 in sudden death overtime at Arrow Field in Clinton.

The team finished with an 18-1 record and captured their second consecutive state championship under Head Coach Scott Tyson in his fifth season.

Morgan Mansell scored the winning goal in sudden death overtime, and Morgan Pace scored her 105th career goal during the championship game.

The resolution commends the 22-member team roster, Head Coach Scott Tyson, Athletic Director Keith Braddock, Supervising Principal Cooper Pope, and team managers for bringing honor to the school and state.

The resolution directs that copies be presented to Coach Tyson and Principal Pope, forwarded to the Jones County Board of Education, and made available to Capitol Press Corps.
