Commends and congratulates Scott Gray III, a 15-year-old from West Lauderdale High School, on being selected as the 2010 State Games of Mississippi AT&T Male Athlete of the Year.

Scott Gray III earned the award for his achievements as a soccer goalie, making 32 saves in the U16 Gold Medal tournament with the Meridian Code Blue team and 71 saves during his high school season as a 10th grader.

Gray also competed in State Games volleyball events, winning Bronze medals in 2008 and 2009 and a Silver medal in 2010, continuing a family tradition in the sport.

Gray and Female Athlete of the Year Jaycee Tutor were entered into the 2010 National Congress of State Games Athlete of the Year Competition, with the winner to be announced September 23, 2011 in San Diego, California.

As AT&T Athletes of the Year, Gray will serve as an official torch runner in the 2011 State Games of Mississippi Opening Ceremonies and promote amateur athletics throughout the state.
