Commends Lieutenant Governor Phil Bryant for his distinguished service as President of the Mississippi Senate and his retirement from that position to run for Governor.

Recognizes Bryant's recovery of more than $12 million in taxpayer funds during his service as State Auditor (1996-2007), including funds that were embezzled or improperly spent.

Acknowledges Bryant's legislative accomplishments including authoring the Capital Gains Tax Cut Act of 1994 and proposing Senate webcasting to increase government transparency and accountability.

Highlights Bryant's background as a former Mississippi House member, deputy sheriff, and current adjunct professor of government at Mississippi College, along with his involvement in conservative organizations including the NRA and Republican Elected Officials Association.

Directs that this resolution be presented to Phil Bryant and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
