Authorizes county boards of supervisors to employ an attorney as a full-time county employee as an alternative to existing counsel arrangements.

Full-time county attorney must maintain office in county courthouse or county-owned building and represent the board of supervisors and all county agencies responsible to the board.

Full-time county attorney cannot engage in private law practice or be associated with any other attorney or firm during employment.

Annual salary for full-time county attorney cannot exceed the maximum annual salary authorized by law for the county judge of that county.

Prohibits the county prosecuting attorney from being employed as the board's attorney in counties that employ a full-time county attorney under this provision, effective October 1, 2012.
