Amends Section 37-15-29 of Mississippi Code to limit school bus transportation to a maximum of 20 miles from a child's home to school or from school to home.

Allows children in situations where the nearest school bus route exceeds 20 miles to enroll in an adjacent school district's nearer school at their parent's or guardian's discretion, regardless of residence.

Provides an appeal process to the State Board of Education if parents and school boards cannot agree on measured bus mileage, with the Board's decision being final.

Requires school districts involved in appeals to provide school bus route information to the Mississippi Department of Education, including riding buses if necessary to measure routes.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
