Amends Section 19-3-42 of the Mississippi Code to authorize school district superintendents, in addition to school boards, to submit written requests to county boards of supervisors for maintenance of private roads and driveways used for school bus turnarounds.

County boards of supervisors may grade, gravel, shell, repair, and maintain private roads or driveways used for school bus turnarounds at their discretion.

Requires county boards to document in official minutes the written request from the school board or superintendent, written approval of the board of supervisors, specific location of the road or driveway, and the owner's name before undertaking maintenance work.

Approval by the board of supervisors is valid for the period a turnaround is anticipated for use, with a maximum validity period of one year.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
