Licensed vessel pilots and pilot trainees are shielded from liability for damage or loss caused by errors, omissions, fault, or neglect during pilot services, except in cases of willful misconduct or reckless disregard for safety

Liability protection does not extend to acts or omissions related to ownership and operation of pilot boats, unless the boat is directly involved in pilot services beyond transporting pilots

Vessel owners and operators remain fully liable for damage caused by their vessels, regardless of whether a licensed pilot was in control or caused the incident

Courts must dismiss proceedings against licensed pilots or trainees when liability is limited under this act and other claims arise from the same incident

Pilots cannot be held liable for claims arising from acts or omissions of other pilots, trainees, or pilot organizations related to pilot services
