Prohibits knowingly altering, obliterating, or removing a firearm's manufacturer serial number

Violation without death results in a misdemeanor punishable by up to $5,000 fine or up to 1 year imprisonment, or both

Violation resulting in death constitutes a felony punishable by up to $500,000 fine or up to 10 years imprisonment, or both
