Authorizes fire service agencies, along with other political subdivisions, to enter into mutual aid agreements with jurisdictions outside Mississippi for emergency assistance, including out-of-state emergencies that are geographically reasonable to respond to.

Establishes that political subdivisions and their fire service agencies are not liable for death, injury, or property damage resulting from mutual aid agreements entered into under this statute, with all protections provided in Section 33-15-21(a).

Confirms that employees of political subdivisions responding under mutual aid agreements retain all powers, duties, rights, privileges, immunities, and compensation benefits related to their employment.

Adds mutual aid agreements as an authorized power of county and municipal emergency management organizations under Section 33-15-17(c)(8).

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
