Requires physicians or attending personnel to test newborn oxygen saturation levels at least once before hospital discharge using an oxygen saturation probe

Mandates retesting one week after initial test if oxygen saturation is below 95%, and again two weeks after the second test if still below 95%

Requires additional diagnostic testing to determine the cause of low oxygen saturation if levels remain below 95% after three tests

Effective date is July 1, 2012
