Authorizes Mississippi motor vehicle owners to purchase distinctive license tags identifying them as supporters of the Southern Pines Animal Shelter upon payment of an additional $30.00 annual fee.

Distribution of each $30.00 fee: $24.00 to Southern Pines Animal Shelter, $1.00 to Mississippi Burn Care Fund, $2.00 to State Highway Fund, $1.00 to special fund created in Section 27-19-44.2, and $2.00 retained by county tax collector.

Applications made through county tax collectors on Department of Revenue forms, with fees remitted monthly to the Department of Revenue; fees concurrent with vehicle registration year and due annually upon renewal.

Replacement tags cost $10.00, with 5% retained by tax collector and remainder distributed according to the standard fee allocation formula.

Effective July 1, 2012.
