Amends Section 37-13-69 of the Mississippi Code to require all public schools to observe state legal holidays established under Section 3-37 and federal holidays designated in 5 USCS Section 6103.

Prohibits schools from holding sessions on statutory state and federal holidays.

Requires schools to operate for the full minimum term required by law, excluding only the mandatory holidays specified in this section.

Allows superintendents, principals, and teachers to receive full pay for holiday closures as if they had taught on those days, but these holidays cannot be counted toward average daily attendance calculations.

Takes effect July 1, 2012.
