State Department of Education must conduct at least one meeting per year in each of Mississippi's 152 school districts to inform the public of new state and federal laws, and new State Board of Education regulations and policies affecting education.

Meetings must include district school boards, superintendents, administrative and instructional personnel, parents, and students.

State Superintendent of Public Education shall appoint a committee of department employees organized by bureau and region to prepare for and conduct these meetings, with each subcommittee responsible for a proportionate share of school districts.

Meetings must be conducted between the date of legislative sine die and December 31 each year, with the first meetings held no later than July 1.

Department may conduct meetings via electronic media transmitted to a public forum within each school district, and must coordinate meeting schedules with each school district's board and superintendent.
