Amends Section 73-53-7 of the Mississippi Code to allow persons whose social work license expired on September 30, 1990, to obtain a new license without retesting.

Applicants must have been actively engaged in social work practice for at least five years before July 1, 1993, as employees of the State of Mississippi, its agencies, political subdivisions, municipalities, community action agencies, or Head Start agencies.

Applicants must be employed by one of the specified entities on July 1, 2012, regardless of whether their current job title is designated as a social worker position.

Applications must be submitted before September 1, 2012, and licenses will be issued upon proof of qualifying employment and payment of appropriate fees.

The act takes effect on July 1, 2012.
