Authorizes municipal governing authorities to donate funds annually to support farmers' markets certified by the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce operating within their municipality, capped at the equivalent of a 1/4 mill ad valorem tax on taxable property

Authorizes county boards of supervisors to expend general fund money to establish, maintain, and operate certified farmers' markets within the county, with the same 1/4 mill cap

Adds farmers' markets to the existing list of authorized charitable donations that county boards of supervisors may make, alongside organizations like the American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Clubs, and domestic violence shelters

Requires farmers' markets to be certified by the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce to qualify for funding

Effective date: July 1, 2012
