House Bill 54 Summary

• Increases the adjustment to the base student cost for at-risk students under the Mississippi Adequate Education Program from 20% to 50% of the base student cost.

• The at-risk adjustment is calculated by multiplying the base student cost by the increased percentage and then multiplying by the number of pupils participating in the federal free school lunch program in the district.

• Effective July 1, 2012.
